TWP Coffee Morning - Introducing the Ayre Offshore Wind Farm, Orkney, 31st March

Find out about TWP’s plans for building a 1GW floating offshore wind farm (Ayre Offshore Wind Farm) in a 187km2 zone to the east of Orkney (33km off the coast of Deerness). This project will produce enough energy to power 1.2 million homes.

Ian Taylor (Project Director) and Jean Lewis (Head of Energy Export Capacity) will present in two sessions on plans and be on hand to answer your questions.

Ian Taylor

Ian sets the strategic direction for TWP and leads the team’s work on planning, consenting, and developing its newly won ScotWind project sites. He has moved into this role after seven years as DEME’s Offshore Country Manager for both the UK and Ireland, where his focus was on the construction of offshore wind farms.

Ian’s renewables experience stretches back to 2002, during which he has led a variety of renewable projects for TXU UK, SLP Energy, Good Energies, Typhoon Offshore. Past projects include the Gemini and Sheringham Shoal offshore wind projects.

Ian started out as a mechanical engineer at Rolls Royce and holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

Jean Lewis

Jean Lewis

Jean leads the grid connection and electrical engineering design for both of TWP’s offshore wind projects. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry with a focus on the design development of large-scale capital energy projects.  

Her previous roles include Technical Director for Grid Services at ITPEnergised, as well as Project Manager for Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission and Mott MacDonald Engineering Consultants. Her first role after graduating from the University of Strathclyde with an MSc in Energy and Environment was as an electrical engineer at Balfour Beatty in Glasgow.
